Need To Conserve Water At Galatea
Whilst the present period of hot dry weather has not, as yet, affected the larger section of Galatea’s water supply some of the farms in the district have already noticed a -considerable lowering of the amount of water they are able ->t, the unfortunate ones"'being those at the •end of the supply from the water main. 'u / In order to be fair with these
unlucky ones, it has been suggested it might be a good idea if the ones supplied before them went round their farms checking on all -the troughs, taps, ball-cocks, etc., to make sure that they are doing all they can to ensure a fair distribution of the remaining water supply. If this were done it would help the ones who are short in a Very big way and, not only that, would mean that those at present more fortunate would be looking after their own interests not wasting any water and thus ensuring that the supply would last for much longer than it will at present ' with overflowing tanks, troughs, etc.
