Transparent Packing
There is a growing trend in the United States toward transparent packaging of food products. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports in a recent survey of wholesale and retail dealers that solid cartons and kraft packages are losing their popularity to the more revealing “window front” and allcellophane types of package for such commodities as rice, beans, and peas. Stronger and more durable cellophane amf all automatic machinery for making, filling, and sealing bags ai’e contributing to the trend toward transparent packaging, the Department notes.
