Slight Increase Of Hospital Patients

Of the 90 patients*remaining in the Whakatane District Hospital at the beginning of January 51 were females and 39 males, the medical superintendent, Dr E. T. Dawson, reported to yesterday’s meeting of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board. This was four more than the number in the hospital at the end of December last year.

During the month 143 patients were admitted (56 males, 87 females) and the some number discharged, 58 being males. There were four deaths (three females and one male) and 29 births (17 males, 12 females).
