THE SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, Auckland (Inc). 52, Victoria Street West, Auckland, C.l. It has come to the notice of this Society through the Inspectors’ constant vigilance, that farmers are consigning stock which has not been thoroughly inspected, to the abattoirs, meat works and saleyards. Recently, several cases of ingrowing horns have been detected, where animals suffered unnecesary pain, both before leaving the farm and en route to the 'saleyards etc. The attention of ALL FARMERS and STATION HOLDERS is drawn to this unsatisfactory state of affairs, and all persons handling stock are requested to exercise a little more care and attention to the animals in their charge. The Society warns owners, that if ingrowing horns are not removed, it will have no option but to prosecute. 444
