Mr and Mrs H. T. Bingham of Pukekohe were visitors to Whakatane during the New Year holidays. Mr A. E. Belcher has been appointed manager for New Zealand of the Atlantic Union Oil Co. Ltd. Announcement of the appointment followed advice that Mr B. E. Mills has taken up, a permanent assignment in New York. Dr H. E. Annett, of Hamilton, and Mr L. J. Wild, of Otaki, will represent Massey Agricultural College on the Council of the New Zealand School of Agriculture, which is a body having certain jurisdiction over the two agricultural colleges attached to the University of New Zealand. The previous representatives were Messrs Wild and M. H. Oram, M.P., but the latter has not sought re-election.
