Finish The Party With A Punch!

For a first-rate wind-up of even the most modei’n party, offer the guests a good punch! To two pints of water add half a pound of sugar, two sticks of cinnamon and twelve cloves. Cut two apples, three oranges and tw'o lemons in but do not peel them. Add to the mixture which should be simmered for an hour and a-half, stirring at intervals. Strain into a jug and keep as near boiling as possible. As the spirits are likely to evaporate at this temperature they may be best added to individual glasses with the mixture, on a basis of two parts of rum to one part of sherry—say in dessertspoonfuls for juveniles, to a tumbler of the hot fruit syrup. Adults will make it “according to ta|te.”
