CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS PARADE
Sir,—The Children’s Fancy Dress Parade and Party has proved a success and the Carnival Committee wishes to take the first opportunity of thanking publicly, through your columns, all those whose efforts contributed to the success. The costume judges, Mesdam.es Peck and Winstone, had a most difficult task in selecting prize win- 1 ners from the array of varied and striking outfits devised by the mothers of the many children who took part in the parade. Thanks go also to the pipers and the pocket edition drum major who led the parade, the concert party from the Paroa School, the ladies from the Women’s Institutes, Mr Malcolm Bell and bis staff, Mr Russell Chapman, Messrs Hunt and Judd of the Legion of Frontiers- ' men, and many others. Finally, a special /tribute to Father Christmas. . , Yours etc., • , J. H. DUTHIE, For the Carnival Committee. '■
