Retirement Of HeadMaster Announced

Mr I. B. Hubbdrd, who has been for the past eight years headmaster of the Whakatane District High School, is retiring at the end of the current school term. -Though ,the appointment of a head of the new High School was announced recently, yet there is no one appointed to lake charge, of the primary school.

Opportunity will be taken at 2 o’clock next Tuesday afternoon during . the primary school sports and gala day for the chairman of the school committee, Mr L. D. Lovelock, and possibly other public men, to say farewell to Mr Hubbard on behalf of the people ok this district. The Committee will be particularly pleased to see a good attendance of ex-pupils, parents of present pupils and the general public on that occasion.
