LARGE ENTRIES AT RANGITAIKI CALF JUDGING SHOW

Large entries were received from all schools in the Rangitaiki Calf Club area at the annual calf judging held on Friday 1 -. The judges comymented qp the fine standard of animals entered from the six schools represented, Otakiri, Edgecumbe, Taneatua, Awakeri, Manawahe and Thornton. The light breed champion calf was entered by Graham Orr, Edgecumbe, while the heavy breed went to John Ar buckle, Thornton., Another Thornton pupil, Cedric Green, was successful in winning the pedigree light breed with Rex Andreson, Otakiri, taking the heavy breed ciass. Colin Hammond, Otakiri, was the convincing champion of the care and rearing class. In conjunction with the calf show lamb judging, and competitions of vegetables, cooking and different school works were held and these attracted the most entries.
