N.Z. Wool Valuable In South Africa
Wool from New Zealand is now being sorted, scoured and carbonised for the first time in South Africa at a factory which was .started in Port Elizabeth two years ago, says the New Zealand Wool Board. This is helping to save South Africa foreign exchange, since the wool is being used for making yarn which has hitherto been imported. South African merino wool, used alone, is too fine for certain types of hosing and tweed being produced by the factory, and coarser New Zealand wool is therefore used.
