CLUB CONTINUES INSTRUCTION

Swimming instruction will again be available at the high school baths tomorrow afternoon from the Whakatane Swimming Club.' Instruction for the season commenced last Saturday and despite heavy rain over 50 children were introduced to the pleasant art of swimming. The club intends to carry on to the holidays and again early next year. The secretary of the club, Mr R. Buttimore, emphasised yesterday that while instruction was being given chiefly to children it was available to anyone. Because of the lack of suitable swimming facilities at Whakatane an effort was being made to teach as many young people as possible enough about swimming so that they may look after themselves when bathing.
