WHAKATANE DEFEATS TANEATUA
Teams from the Whakatane Bowling Club played strong teams from the Taneatua Club at Taneatua in the first of a series of games for the Challenge Shield. Every game was closely contested and resulted in a win for Whakatane in the aggregate score by 12 points. Whakatane teams included: Smoljan, Grant, Stewart, Compton, Henderson, Loane, Spong, Atkinson, Howat, Burgess, White, Rivett, Good, Anderson, Berg, G. Howat.
