Electricians Visit Board Mills

Members of the New Plymouth, Wairoa and Waikaremoana branches of the Institute of Electricians visited Whakatane and the Whakatane Board Mills over the week-end. The. party paid a .visit to the mill on Saturday morning and in the afternoon were conducted on a sightseeing trip to Ohope and the district.

On Saturday evening the Whakatane branch celebrated the annual social and the president, Mr R. Burgess, welcomed t|re visitors, mentioning particularly' the New Plymouth party, which had travelled all of Friday night to be present. Mr V. King, New Plymouth president, and Mr M. F. Beattie, Waikaremoana, both replied. Vocal items were given by Mrs M. Henderson and Miss Peagram and instrumental items by Messrs A. Blake and D. Wilkinson. Magic tricks, Mr M. Stewart, Wairoa; ventriloquist, Mr W. Marshall; lighting •sketches, Mr H. Hauesler; humorous monologue, Mr N. I. Warner. A monte carlo was won by Mr and Mrs G. W. Markland.
