WHAKATANE THIRD IN CUP CHALLENGE
In spite of dull, overcast weather there were some good preformances at the challenge shoot for the Standard Cup between archers from Whakatane, Tauranga and Opotiki at Opotiki on Saturday. This was won fairly convincingly by Opotiki with Tauranga second and Whakatane third.
After the shoot Mr T. Larmer in presenting the Cup to Mrs Billie Chatfield, Lady Paramount of the winning Opotiki team, also congratulated Tauranga and Whakatane on their fine performances, considering the short time they had been shooting. Mr R. Hunter, katane, replied on behalf of the visitors.
