International Day at Edgecumbe W.I.

Last Tuesday was "International Day' at the Edgecumbe Women's Institute meeting in the Presbyterian Hall, which was decorated with flags of all nations. Mrs H. M. Carter presided over a good attendance of members,. The bi-annual Council report was presented by Mrs S. Hodson, and the executive meeting report by Mrs Carter. The meeting handled a heavy agenda of domestic business.

Arrangements were made for the Kmas tree to be held next month, when it is hoped all members and their children of primary school -ige or 'under will attend. A bank book was presented to Baby Marx, and birthday sprays to Mesdames L. Perkins. J. C. Tunnicliffe, J. Barnes,'H. M. Carter, T. G. Roberts and H. Quayle.

Competition results: Feather posy, Mr A. T. Andrews; wall competition, Mesdames Mason and C. W Clark, equal, 1; paper hats, Mrs A. Blake 1, Mrs A. Gibson 2, Mrs H. Quavle 3; dressed doll, Mrs Watkin "l, Mrs A. Gibson 2; floral platter, Mrs J. Black 1, Mrs J. C. Tunnicliffe 2, Mrs O. Parsons 3; best flower, Mrs H. M. Carter 1, Mrs J. Black 2, .Mrs A. J, Sim 3; best vegetable, Wilson 1, Mrs O. Parsons 2, Mrs A. J- Sim 3.
