Association Officers Because h eis soon leave the district Mr H. M.* Carter, president of the Edgecumbe Progressive Association, resigned from that position at an executive meeting last week and his place wa staken by Mr G. E. King. Mr D. G. Meikle was elected to the position of secretary.

Horses Impounded During the past month 15 horses were impounded from the Ruatoki, Manawahe, Thornton and Te Teko districts in the Whakatane County. One bull was taken from the Waimana Gorge. Altogether 27 horses were sold at the pound sales. Driving and sale fees totalled £37 14s.

Girls' Marching Officials of the girls' marching organisation here say there is ample evidence of interest, and some good teams should be developed from the local , material available.
