Warm Appreciation To Te Teko From Hungry Britain

Warm appreciation of a gift of bacon from the Te Teko Red Cross Society shipped to Britain recently is expressed in a letter to the -Te Teko Society from Mrs N. S. Mudie, who writes from London f on behalf of /the Commonwealth Gift Centre. Mrs Mudie says: "Will you please accept the thanks of the Commonwealth Gift Centre, and our warm appreciation of this delightfully helpful gift. I can well imagine the treat the bacon is going to give to many, homes these days of short supplies, and although the recipients will write to you, many a spoken—and unspoken—blessing' will cross the seas to you. "The wonderful friendship of our kinsfolk in New Zealand has been, and is, a source of great encouragement to us all in this country, bracing us to face up to, and our present difficulties." Primary School Funds The Whakatane Infant School funds benefited to the extent of £29 •through the gala day last Friday. This was well supported by parents and friends and the staff of the school have extended their thanks to those who helped to make the day a success. \
