W. TYSSEN 1 WINS THREE CLUB TROPHIES W. Tyssen was successful in winning the Lodge, Plamus and Hunt Cups at the final indoor shoot for this season held by the Whakatane Legion Miniature Rifle Club on Thursday night. The full trophy results were:— i

Lodge Cup (highest aggregate off rifle for season:) W. Tyssen 1330, C. Bathe 1315 2; "A Frontiersmans" Cup (highest aggregate off rifle for season, Junior): Miss A. Bathe 1112 1, R. Bell 820; Plamus Cup (Open Championship): W. Tyssen 97 1, C. Bathe 94, 2; Howat Cup (Junior Championship): R. Bell 73 1, A. Bawer, A. Bathe 77 2 e'qual; Hunt Cup (Highest Handicap Aggregate for season): W. Tyssen .684.37 1, R. Bell 681.09 2; Critchley Cup (most improved shot): R. Thompson 1.

A team of 12 members of the Taneatua Defence Rifle Club challenged the Whakatane Club, but although several of their men put up .excellent scores they were defeated by 1050 points to 892. The novelty competition for the evening proved very popular, prizes ranging from cake plates to toothpaste. Scores for club members and visitors were:—

Tebbutt 46. The Silver Spoon trophy was won by A. Bradshaw, and the pennant by Miss D. Tyssen.
