Plans for the proposed teachers’ hostel at Edgecumbe are progressing favourably, it was reported to this week’s meeting of the Edgecumbe District Parent-Teacher Association, but before negotiations are carried further it will be necessary to approach neighbouring schools for support. That will' be done in thp new year, when changes of staff are known. The meeting finalised* plans for a Christmas party at the school on parent’s day, December 14, and decided to invite senior pupils leaving school this year to the next meeting of the Association, so that they •■may be appropriately farewelled.
