Election Addresses At Whakatane
Over 100 people. gave Mr E. B. Corbett, National fitting member for Egmont, an attentive hearing in the Grand Theatre, Whakatane, last night. He spoke on many aspects of his party’s policy and declared that the ultimate object of the present socialist Government was communism. Out at Paroa last night the National candidate for Eastern Maori, Mr T. Carroll, addressed a large gathering of Maori electors and received a good hearing. Mr Carroll also spoke at the Whakatane Board Mills yesterday to both Maori and Pakeha workers. He was accompanied by the former National member for Eastern Maori, Sir Apirana Ngata.
