Some Wool Bales Packed Overweight
A number of overweight wool bales have been received this season and as they cannot be considered to be in a shippable condition it has been found necessary to reduce them to regulation weights, states the Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association. As a result a special charge is being made to the grower for each bale so handled while the surplus wool is being binned and is to carry the usual binning charge. The weight for bales is 4001bs, except in the case of bellies, pieces and locks, where the minimum weight is 4501b5. The Association urges that growers should avoid inconvenience and expense by making certain that all bales are within the regulation weight limits before despatching them.
