Whakatane Leads In N.Z. Competition

At the end of the ninth week of the thirteen week Kerridge-Odeon showmanship drive for 1949, Whakatane leads the Dominion-wide chain of 150 theatres. There are only four weeks now to complete the competition, 'and the local theatre manager, Mr A. R. Chapman, is busy scheming up all sorts of stunts, like the “Paleface” guy, that was burned on Luke’s bonfire on Saturday night, to keep his theatres in the running.
