Carriers Charged For Overloading
Several traffic offences of overloading heavy vehicles were dealt with in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. The Transport Department was represented by traffic inspector M. C. Bridge. W. R. Beaumont and Co. Ltd., fined £3 (costs 10/-), Robert Frederick Cornelius Curry £3 (costs 10/-). Hall and Stewart Ltd.,. £3 (costs 10/-). Jack Moulden £3 (costs 12/-). Timber Transport Coy. Ltd., £2 (costs 10/-). Timber Transport Coy. Ltd.. £4 (costs 10/-). No License Frank Monte Stewart, labourer, was fined £5 (costs 10s) by Mr ,E. L. Walton, S.M., yesterday for driving a motor vehicle at Whakatane on October 15, which was during a period he was prohibited from holding a driver’s license. Load Back Too Far Charged with operating a motor vehicle with the load extending further backward than four feet over the body of the vehicle John Yeoman was fined £2 (costs 10s) by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Whakatane Court yesterday. No Firearm Permit For selling a .22 calibre rifle to a person who had, not obtained the necessary permit to procure a firearm Albert Frederick Worrell appeared in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was fined 10s (costs 10s) by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. Ordered Tc Pay £54 17s 4d Judgment was entered against A. McCausland who was ordered to pay the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy. Ltd. £54 17s 4d (costs £3 8s) by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Whakatane Magistrate's Court yesterday.
