HIGH STANDARD AT CLUB SHOOT
Some very good performances %ere registered 'by competitors at a successful shoot of the' Whakatane County Rod and Gun Club last week-end and the standard generally throughout the day was higher than usual. Conditions were almost perfect. The Club open championship for the Plamus Cup was won by the donor J. Plamus after a shoot-off with three other competitors. He missed only one target in the 25 necessary to decide the championship. Results in detail:— Eye-opener, 5 targets (16 entries): A. Wansbone, W. Hume, J. Plamus and J. Tebbutt each 5 and divided the stake. Sweepstake, 10 targets (19 entries): J. Shove, W. Hume, and W. Dippie each 9 and divided the stake. Sweepstake 10 targets (21 entries:) A. Wansbone and W. Hume 1 equal 10; J. McLeod and J. Tebbutt 3 equal 9. Trophy Shoot, 10 targets (17 entries): A. Wansbone 10 1; V. Timbs 10 2; J. Plamus 10 3. C. A. Timbs Memorial Pigeon, 10 targets (16 entries): W. Hume 10 1, J. Shove 10 2, C. Hartley 10 3. Plamus Cup Open Championship, 15 targets (15 entries): J: Plamus 14 1, A. Wansbone 14 2, W. Hume and C. Hartley also shot 14 and divided the optional sweepstake with the winner and runnerup. J. D. Rivett Novice Cup, 10 targets (4 entries): H. Webby 9 1, run-ner-up, D. Snowden 5. Sweepstake, 10 targets (15 entries): W. Kenyon, A. Wansbone and V. Timbs 1 equal and divided the stake. Sweepstake, 5 targets (15 entries): R. Julian and H. W. Mexted 1 equal 5. Box Shoot, 5 birds, 24 yards (6 entries): C Hartley 5 1.
