Cars Collide On Taneatua Highway

When two cars collided on the, Whakatane-Taiieatua highway at about 7.40 p.m. on Sunday a woman passenger, Mrs J. M'. Stewart, Rotorua, received slight injuries and was admitted to the Whakatane. District Hospital. Her condition today was reported to be very satis- ’ " factory. One of the cars travelling towards Whakatane and driven by J Mr E. W. E. Butcher, Opotiki, turned after the collision and was \ extensively damaged. Mrs Stewart who was a passenger was injured then. The Other car , was beifng driven towards Taneatua by Mr R. J. Burns, Auckland, and was only moderately damaged.
