Converted Car Recovered Damaged

Stolen from the front lawn of his home where it had been parked on Tuesday night a car owned by Mr N. E. Rigden, King Street, Whakatane, was recovered on Wednesday in a badly damaged condition on Western Drain Road, Awakeri. The car was found by a driver of the rural delivery service and later brought back to Whakatane.

It is understood that it will cost about £2OO to repair the damage. The vehicle was parked on the front lawn of Mr Rigden’s home and sometime during the night was aparently pushed out on to the road before it was started and driven away. The police are at present making inquiries.
