Government Pleased To Consult The Fed. Farmers
The Government would be pleased to consult with Federated Farmers wherever possible when matters affecting the farming industry Were being dealt with by legislation, said the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, replying to a letter from the General Secretary, Mr A. P. O’Shea, in which Mr O’Shea had submitted a resolution. carried by the recent Dominion Conference of Federated Farmers. The resolution asked that in all proposed legislation on matters vitally affecting the farming community, Federated Farmers should be first consulted. The Prime Minister also acknowledged a letter from the Federation which asked that an Empire Economic Conference be considered.
