Modern Army And All That
There is no doubt that the modern Army is being run on very different lines. The other day a recruit walked straight past an officer without so much as a glance in his direction.
The officer stopped him. “Why didn’t you salute me?” he asked. “I didn’t see you, Sir,” replied the recruit.
j “Well, that’s a relief” said the officer. “I thought I might have said j something to annoy you.”
