Rivett Cup Just Won By Whakatane In Badminton Match

.In the first round of an interclub match between Awakeri and Whakatane for the Rivett Cup, played in the St John’s Hall, Wha ; - katane, on Saturday morning, a tense atmosphere prevailed throughout as the issue remained in doubt until'the final set was played, Whakatane winning 5 sets to 3, and be coming the first holders of the Cup. During the afternoon, St John’s narrowly defeated Otakiri by 5 sets to 3. The games*i throughout the tournament w T ere keenly contested and some fine play was witnessed.
