Shrub Stolen A rafher mean theft was committed on the Whakatane Convent grounds on Monday night 'when a fair sized flowering shrub was dug’’ out and stolen. The shrub rather an attractive plant and been a useful addition to the • grounds. All that was left on Tuesday morning was a large hole. It had completely disappeared.
Player Injured Although a friendly game played in a very friendly spirit the rugby match between the Awakeri and Otakiri Young Farmers’ Clubs proved a very hard game and resulted in one player, D. F. Rasmussen, being injured. He was admitted to the Whakatane District Hospital for treatment but was discharged on Wednesday. •
