Contributory Charge Of Wool Growers' Account
The rate of the contributory charge fixfed for the 1949/50 season is 2} per cent on sale value on growers’ wool. The previous rates of the contributory charge were, for the 1946/47 season, 7-2 per cent, and for the 1947/48 season and 1948/49 season, 5 per cent. After providing from contributory charge funds for the growers’ liability to meet onehalf the operating expenses of the J. 0., there is an estimated surplus in the growers’ contributory charge account at June 30, 1949, of £4,215.000. Funds collected during the 1949/ 50 season at the 22 per cent rate of contributory charge are expected to cover the growers’ liability for operating expenses and leave a surplus of at least £50,000.
