OVER THE AIR
Sir,—When Mr Nash stated in the House: The Hon. Member for Tauranga agrees with the management of money. So do we. This Government’s policy is to ■ manage the money. Mr Doiage: The City of London (the Bank of England) is responsible; not the Socialist Government. Mr Nash: The best management of money is in Britain by a Government body; it is done by the Bank of England. Mr Algie: Long before that. Mr Nash: I wish the honourable member did not know so much. “The City of London” is the financial dictator of the peoples of economy; and what a mess they have made of it, under the control of Wall Street and the Marshall Plan. From the above: Both sides of the House are in agreement that private monopoly of the peoples credit, is the Government of the day. This issue is not peculiar to New Zealand, but is preoccupying men’s minds in Britain and America just as much as it is here.
It is increasingly recognised by both Parties—though they will never admit it—that the complete achievement of the political doctrines they preach is quite impracticable;, and not in conformity with a free people, but leading to the economic control; and the subversion of the nation by a foreign body. And rather than face up to so vital a question they would sidestep the issue with a melody of words that have no meaning. Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
