BUSINESSMEN HAVE TWO WINS, TWO LOSSES
Revealing a surprising ignorance of the rules, which in no way hampered their general play or their efforts to get the ball, the Whakatane Businesmen’s teams provided a novelty form of basketball when they met the Olympics and Redwings Clubs at the Whakatane High School courts on Saturday. Against Olympics both Businessmen’s teams were unsuccessful, the A team losing by the narrow margin of 7—6 and the B team 12—4. However, Businessmen gained two wins over Redwings in very close games. Some of their movements rather puzzled the latter team but tlie final “official” score stood at Businessmen A 7 Redwings 4; Business B 6 Redwings 2. Some of the matches were played in rain before a fair crowd.
