Ready Competition For Young Bulls At Cloverfields Sale
Conducted by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., \ a most successful sale was experienced in the dispersal of the Second Annual Sale of bulls on account of the Cloverfields Jersey Stud owned by Messrs Boon and Berg.
The catalogue comprised 6 2-year bulls and 22 yearling bulls ahd met ready competition from a large and representative bench of buyers. The top price of 130 guineas was paid for “Cloverfields Starlight” (By Cloverfields Enid Sam from Manakoa Beaming Star V.H.C ) by Mrs A. V. Goodrich, Te Puke. “Cloverfields Noble Sam”, another son of “Cloverfields Enid Sam” from “Mamakura Bubbles” by “Lobelia Palatine Sultan (Imp)” went to the same buyer at 120gns. “Cloverfields All Sam” by “Enid Sam” ' from “‘Cloverfields Brrilgiht Eyes” by “Oddicombe Dreaming Sam” was secured by Mr J. A. Mitchell, Waimana, at 102|gns., and at 80gns. “Cloverfields Master Pal” by “Lobelia Palatine Sultan (Imp)” from “Greenmeadows Ivy, V.H.C.” and “Cloverfields Sam Magnet” by “Enid Sam”, from “Cloverfields Orleander” by “Meon Omen, C. 8.8.” went to Newton King, New Plymouth and Mr A. Walters, Kaihere respectively. To a bid of 75gns “.Cloverfields Regal Sam” another son of “Enid Sam” from “Hatcliffe Royal Gay, H.C.” with records up to 6561bs fat went to Mr E. Neill, Matangi.
A complete clearance was effected, the total catalogue averaging 53gns.
