Large Crowd At Nurses ' Dance

A very large and keen crowd of dancers attended a gay dance organised by nurses of the Whakatane District Hospital in the King Street Hall on Saturday night. There were visitors from many parts of the Bay of Plenty and the guests of honour were Dr and Mrs E. T. Dawson, Dr and Mrs A. W. F. Cole, Dr and Mrs R. Akel and Mr- J. Mullins, chairman of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board, and Mrs Mullins. The music was played by Harrison’s Orchestra with supper extras being supplied by Miss D. Stewart and Mr G. Paterson. A monte carlo was won by Mr and Mrs W. Thompson, Manawahe. Dr Dawson was M.C.
