Large Attendance To Manawahe W.I. Monthly Meeting
A fine spring day resulted in a very gobd attendance of members of the Manawahe Women’s Institute, which was presided over by Mrs Goldsmith.
“Peggy Squares” for Corso were handed in by members. The secretary advised that a parcel of towels had been sent to the Auckland Provincial Comforts Society to help in their recent appeal. Mrs. G. Logan demonstrated the making of a floral cup and saucer. Members are to put into practice what they have learnt, for the competition next month. The monthly competitions were very well contested, there being an excellent array of flowers and shrubs. Results:—
Best bloom: Mrs Thompson arid Mrs Morice 1 equal, Mrs Mikkleson 3. Best shrub: Mrs Appleby 1. Mrs Baldwin 2. Best vegetable: Mrs Bowden 1, Mrs Bowes 2. Best results from one egg: Mrs Morice 1, Mrs Bowden 2.
