Local Talent For Broadcasting

I In keeping with the policy of en- ■ couraging local talent in the various . centres in the Bay of Plenty IYZ • has recently commenced a program- ! me on Thursday evenings featuring artists from all over the province. Recently technicians and programme staff visited Whakatane and auditions of the local talent offering were made. A number passed the test, being of the standard needed for broadcasting. The station is interested in any local talent that may' be offering and. part of the expenses to travel to Rotorua to broadcast are made. The station has plans to extend its scouting in the more out of the way districts.
