Farewell Afternoon For Popular Resident of Nukuhou North
A pleasant garden partv was held recently at Mrs J. Mitchell’s home, Waimana, when the women of Waimana and Nukuhou North gathered to' bid fart well to an old re-* sident of the district, Mrs F. J. Savage. The weather was absolutely perfect for he function. Games and competitions were held out of doors on the spacious lawns. Mrs J. Boynton, Mrs Grey (Taneatua), Mrs Taylor (Katikati) and Mrs C. Bell were winners of the various competitions. A most delicious afternoon tea was served by the women present, after which Mrs J. Mitchell, on behalf of all present and absent friends, asked Mrs Savage to accept an umbrella and a bouquet of flowers, with their best wishes for her future life in Auckland Mrs Mitchell said Mrs Savage would be greatly missed from the district especially from the Institute of which she was a foundation member, and had always taken an active part in its workings. She was always ready to help anyone at all times.
Mrs Savage replied thanking Mrs Mitchell and all for the lovely afternoon and gifts. She said she would certainly miss the Institute and friends, but hoped to pay frequent visits to her son and daughter. Mrs Savage left for her new home at Ellerslie, Auckland, last Tuesday.
