WHAKAT ANE-R ANGITAIKI TEAM The rugby players published in Wednesday’s Beacon to represent Whakatane-Rangitaiki combined at Opotiki tomorrow will all be travelling to take part in the game. The match is more of a trial, for the final team to, be selected to meet Auckland Colts at Taneatua on Wednesday. The Whakatane players will assemble at the Rock at noon and the Taneatua players will be picked up en route. The following is the OpotikiApanqi team for tomorrow:— Fullback, A. Abbot (O). Gray (A), N. Titirangi (A), K. Hughes (O), D. DonaldsOn (O), S. McLaughlin CO), F. Hughes (O), ' Emergencies: Backs, Rata (A), 6. Warren CO); forwards, R. Christie (O), J. Howe CO), I. Gray CA). SECOND FILE CUP GAME TOMORROW The second Pile Cup rugby match to be held at Whakatane will be played tomorrow between the present holders of the trophy, Paroa,. and the challengers, Opotiki United, at 2.45 p.m. Paroa have been training solidly and they have selected a strong team to face the challengers.
The curtain raiser will be a junior- match for the Wilson. Cup at 1.30 p.m. between Paroa and Taneatua.
