Wider Selection Of Courses Available At Massey College

The gradual easing-off in numbers of ex-servicemen applying through the Rehabilitation Department for short courses at Massey Agricultural College, has made it possible to arrange for several of the many courses which other interests have requested. Field drainage contractors from the Auckland district have just finished a week’s course in mole drainage at the college. There is an increasing demand from farmers in that area for field drainage installations, and in order that mole drainage, comparatively new to that district, might be undertaken successfully on a wider scale a request was made to the college for a special course, which was attended by 10 contractoi's. Three other special courses, ranging from fruitgrowing to ice cream manufacture, will be held in September. A four-weeks’ course in seeds and fertilisers will commence at the end of August, and a fortnight will be given over to fruitgrowers from the same date. At the request of the New Zealand Ice Cream Manufacturers’ Association, managers and staff of such factories will be given a fourday’s course from September 20. In all cases, the enrolments will be from many parts of the Dominion.
