WATER SUPPLY LOAN 1948, £25,000 Pursuant to section 11 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Whakatane, will be taken, on WEDNESDAY the 14th day of September 1949, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council to • borrow the sum of Twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000), for the purpose of constructing a reservoir, intake and low lift pumping station, flocculation plant, purchasing and installing a rising main, pipes, motor, pumps (including spares) and / general equipment, engineering fees and land purchase. BARRY, 343' Mayor. rangitAiki river bridge, EDGECUMBE NOTIFICATION OF WEIGHTLIMIT AND SPEED-LIMIT FOR BRIDGE WHEREAS it is provided by clause (1) of Regulation 7A of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1940 (as enacted by Regulation 5 of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1940, Amendment No. 6) that no person shall operate on or over any bridge which is under the control of a controlling authority any heavy motor-vehicle which exceeds the weight-limits or shall cause any heavy motor-vehicle to pass over any such bridge at a speed in excess of the speed-limit for the time being in force and fixed with respect to that bridge pursuant to the said regulations. Notification is hereby given that the Whakatane County Council being the controlling authority in respect of the Rangitaiki River Bridge at Edgecumbe, situated on the Awa-keri-Edgecumbe-Te Teko Main Highway in the Whakatane County has fixed the following weight limits and speed-limit for heavy motorvehicles using the said bridge, that is to say:— The maximum weight of any such heavy motor-vehicle and its load shall not exceed 12 tons. The maximum portion of the weight of any such heavy motor - vehicle and its load transmitted by any axle to the bridge surface shall be not more than 6 tons. The maximum speed at which any such heavy motor-vehicle may pass over such bridge shall not exceed 10 miles per hour. Attention is called to Regulation 16 of the said regulations, which fixed a penalty of £2O for each offence against the regulations. C. H. BREBNER,County Engineer. 364
