Bus And Truck Collide On Bridge

Three windows were smashed and the driver slightly injured when the Te Teko workers’ bus came in to contact with a Railway Road Services truck on the main WbakataneRotorua highwa}' at about 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday. Driven by Mr T. Edwards, Te Teko, the bus travelling towards Awakeri had just come off the bridge crossing a small drain between the Whakatane West turn off and where the board mills railway line crosses the main road, when it was hit by the canopy of the struck, which was just entering the bridge towards Whakatane. The damage to the truck was very slight but the rear view mirror of the bus was pushed through a side window, round through the right windscreen, cutting Mr Edwards’s face as it did so His injurv was not serious.

Both vehicles were able to proceed.
