Public Notice pursuant to the provisions of Section 10 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, is hereby given that the Whakatane Borou;h Council proposes to borrow the sum of £25,000 by a loan to be known as “Water Supply Loan, 1948” for the purpose of constructing a Reservoir, intake and low lift pumping station, flocculation plant, purchasing and installing a rising main, pipes, motors, pumps (including spares) and general equipment, engineering fees and land purchase, subject to the following conditions:— 1. The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be thirty (30) years. 2. The rate of interest that may Ke paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding three pounds five shillings (£3 ss) per centum per annum. 3. The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be paid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over the term as determined in 1 above. 4. The payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. 5. The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of my amount raised. 6. No moneys shall be borrowed under this sanction after the expiration of two years from the date of the Order in Council consenting to the loan. The security for the proposed loan shall be a special rate of 2.75 d of the rateable value (on the basis of the Unimproved value) of ail rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane.
