Plunket Society’s Annual Meeting At Whakatane
Mrs B. S. Barry presided at the twenty-third annual meeting of the Whakatane Branch of the Piunket Society. She congratulated the branch on acquiring the services of a second Piunket Sister and on raising the finance to purchase a new car. • ' The following officers were elected for the 1949/50 period:— President, Mrs L. M. Roach; vicepresidents, Mesdames Kendall, Shapley, M. D. Cairns and H. D. Paterson; hon. vice-presidents, Mesdames L. Buddie, F. B. Cutler, B. S. Barry, W. Sullivan, F. Sutcliffe and C. A. Suckling; hon. secretary, Mrs A. R. Knights and Mrs D. Wylie (jointly); hon. treasurer, Mr C. A. Suckling; hon. auditor, Mr N. H. E. Hockin; hon. solicitor, Mr L. Buddie; advisory board, Drs E. T. Dawson and F. Appleby, Messrs L. Buddie, ,C. A. Suckling, R. T. Morpeth and W. Sullivan, M.P.'; committee, Mesdames Abbott, Duthie. Dallas, Butximore, H. . Morgan, Gainsborough Smith, Cooper, Bryers, E. Johnson, Scragg, Drayson and Kenyon. Mrs Sutcliffe gave a most interesting resume of Piunket work in this district during the past 23 years. At the conclusion of her talk Mrs Sutcliffe asked Sister E. M. Armstrong who has been at the branch for ten years to accept a book and a box of flowers as a token of appreciation from members of the. committee. > Sister Armstrong gratefully acknowledged the presentation.
