Potato Marketing Board To Be Formed By Affected Bodies

Proposals for the formation of a potato marketing board are to be examined and a report prepared for the Government concerning it so that, the relevant legislation might be introduced during this session according to advice received by Federated Farmers from the Assistant Director of Marketing, Mr K. B. Longmore. The parties which will consider the proposals are Federated Farmers, the New Zealand Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants’ Federation and representatives of the Potato Advisory Committee. The date of the preliminary meeting will be announced as soon as possible. The Government will continue the system or potato contracts for another year.
