A GOOD MANICURE FOR ALL WOMEN IS A NECESSITY
If you’ve got pretty hands flatter them with a manicure; if you haven’t improve them with one, a beauty expert said recently when discussing the advantages of a good manicure. Logical steps are: Remove your old polish, file and shape, buff briefly, soak in soapy warm water, apply cuticle remover all round nails, apply nail white pencil or cream to bleach under tips, push cuticle back gently with a cotton wool wrapped orange stick and work round cuticles to get rid of dead skin, snip any hangnails with scissors, scrub nails with soft brush to clean off cuticle remover and surplus nail white, dry thoroughly. Colourless Base Coat Then brush on colourless base coat and let it dry, apply first coat of polish, thin, over whole nail, apply second coat, a little fuller, and after each nails is lacquered thumb away a hairline—or a broader line if you like the entire tip to show, dip a cotton-wrapped orange stick in remover and clear away polish specks from skin round nail, apply another coating of coolurless base over the entire nail and carry it slightly • under the tip, and after nails are completely dry have a moment’s massage with a good, rich hand cream. Hangnails are ugly and painful. To correct, apply only cuticle remover, work back gentty with an orange stick, scrub, trim carefully, dab with softenig oil. Repeat, if necessary. To precent entirely, press the cuticle back after each and every hand wash. Use a tov/el or an orange stick. Filing should be done in a one way movement, sweeping from each corner towards the middle. Square nails can look much more delicately over when polish outlines the moons and tips into deep curves. Leave a hairline unlacquered down each side; it slims even more the appearance of blunt nails. Wear the tips as long as is practical, deeply oval. Round Nails Lengthen Round nails seem to lengthen elegantly when polish covers the centre nail from matrix to tip. Slim them even more by applying the second coat down the centre panel only. Wear tips very slightly pointed. Triangular nails can look tapered, almost almond-shaped, when polish covers all except a tiny moon and a narrow line of tip. Wear nails moderately short, but with ends shaped into definite .ovals. Oval nails are the ideal, look lovely with almost any style. The current one of completely exposed moons and tips lets them show off their perfect figures. Try it yourself to top off the nicest possible manicure.
