WHAKATANE TO DEFEND MIRIATA SHIELD
Three representative basketball games will be played at Whakatane against Tauranga on Saturday. The main game is at 2.45 p.m., when - Whakatane will defend the Miriata
Shield for the third time this season against a strong Tauranga challenge. Whakatane B is to play Tauranga Maoris at 2 p.m., this will be refereed by Miss J. Sisam, and Whakatane C is to play Tauranga C at 1.1 p.m., the referee Mrs I. Shapley. Following are the Whakatane B and C teams:—

Whakatane,* Paroa, Poroporo and the Convent are to take part in the Bay of Plenty Primary Schools’ annual basketball tournament at Tauranga on Friday.
