Going To School In Shifts

Ramsbury school children may think they’re lucky . . . But their parents don’t feel so happy. Headmaster H. G. Ludlow has been teaching 120 children with two assistants since a third retired. One of the two has now fallen sick. “Two can’t teach 120 all at. once.” he announced. “We’ll take you in shifts.” So now there will be holidays on Moudays, Wednesdays and Fridays for more than half the school. ' Incidentally, there’s an empty, four-bedroomed house near the village waiting for a new assistant. The children, of course, hope it stays empty.
