Twelve plays were presented to a most applicative audience. The coveted award for the best actress was given to Dorothy Tebbutt of Taneatua for her characterisation as Anna in “The Frozen Heart,” the judge describing her acting as spontaneous and natural. Taneatua W.I. won the prize for the best drama with “The Frozen Heart” with four Institutes being equal for second place. They were Waimana, Matata, Edgecumbe and Gtakiri all with 75 points.
