Australians Will Arrive On August 18 At Whakatane
Arrangements to receive the touring Australian rugby team at Whakatane next month are nearing completion, according to the secretary of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union, Mr P. R. Bryers. The team is expected to arrive at Whakatane at about 4.30 p.m. on August 18 and will stay at the Commercial Hotel. It is not known yet whether the team will leave on August 21 or 22. The Bay of Plenty team is to gather at Whakatane before the game and will be accommodated at the Whakatane Hotel.
Huge crowds are expected for the game, which will be played at Whakatane Field on Saturday, August 20.
Beside the Australian game a representative junior match between the Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay is to be played.
